China's second-largest telecom operator, China Unicom, will announce its deal with Apple Inc. on the country's first iPhone 3G mobile handset on Friday, Sina.com reports.
Sources told Sina.com that China Unicom will announce relevant information Friday afternoon, though it was not clear whether China Unicom and US computer maker Apple have struck a deal or not.
The model will be iPhone 3G and will be supplied to customers in an 8-gigabyte version and a 16-gigabyte version and will be available for sale in September, according to sources.
However, a price for the handset has yet to be revealed.
